Cellular Micronutrient Test

Receive a personalized assessment of your nutrient needs.

Nutrient requirements are unique to each individual. Cellular Micronutrient Testing is a simple blood draw that assesses the impact of specific nutrients on cellular function.

Order your test today and discover what micronutrients you can use a boost in.

Cellular Micronutrient Test

Nutrients sustain life by producing energy and manufacturing enzymes, hormones, neurotransmitters, and proteins.

While it is common to receive enough macronutrients from protein, fats, and carbohydrates from your diet a deficiency in micronutrients is more common. There are almost 30 vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients that your body cannot manufacture in sufficient amounts on its own. These are considered “essential micronutrients”.

Metabolism and biochemical reactions take place intracellularly (within cells). Micronutrients are the driving force behind these metabolic reactions. An insufficiency of any of the nutrients involved can contribute to a disruption in cell metabolism.

There is not a one size fits all plan for nutrient intake. Everyone has unique nutrient needs.

Assessing nutrient status is key to understanding your ideal dietary intake.

Cellular Micronutrient Testing is a simple blood draw that assesses the impact of specific nutrients on cellular function. It is a reflection of long-term (over 6 months) micronutrient status and their impact on cellular function. That’s right, it’s not just a “snapshot” as is seen in serum nutrient tests.

You can refer to the chart below to view the items tested.

How does Micronutrient Testing work?

When your body has an infection, it increases the production of the T and B lymphocytes that combat that specific invader. The faster these cells reproduce the faster infection is overcome. The ability of these cells to multiply is driven by our nutrient stores. Your cells need nutrients in order to grow and multiply.

Cellular Micronutrient Testing measures the effect of micronutrients on the ability of T and B lymphocytes to reproduce when stimulated with a mitogen. A mitogen is an agent that causes mitosis or cell division. Learn more about the test here.

Nutrient requirements are impacted by:

  • Stress
  • Genetics
  • High energy output in sports
  • Pregnancy
  • Recent infection
  • Toxic burden
  • Sleep patterns

Micronutrient Testing can be beneficial in cases of:

  • Standard American Diet (SAD diet)
  • Chronic stress
  • Sports nutrition
  • Weight management
  • Fatigue
  • Mood swings
  • Chronic conditions
  • Genetic factors

You will visit a lab for the drawYour report will easy to understand with color-coded test results. The report shows “nutrient sufficiency,” “borderline insufficiency,” and “insufficiency” along with the function and dietary sources of each nutrient.

There is no need to discontinue supplements weeks prior to testing. If possible and under your doctor’s supervision, avoid medications/supplements at least 4 hours before the blood draw.

Results are available online in 5-7 business days after the draw. Result turnaround times are an estimate and are not guaranteed. Our reference lab may need additional time due to weather, holidays, confirmation/repeat testing, or equipment maintenance.

Please note:

*Micronutrient testing is available in all states across the nation, except New York.
*Cancellation fee of $50 applies to all tests shipped and canceled prior to processing.
*Cost of lab draw is not included and usually ranges from $20-$50.
