This the soup that you have been waiting for.
If you are a fan of split pea soup then you have to try the Easy-Peasy Split Pea Soup! Hear me out on this, it is gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan. Does that mean that you have to sacrifice your taste buds? Um, no way! When everything slow cooks all day in the crock-pot the flavors unfolds into a taste of Heaven. The best part about it is that there are minimal ingredients, which means you can prepare this bad boy in minutes (around 10).
Flavor on top of Flavor! I highly recommend cooking with Anise seasoning, which is characterized by its sweetness. It aids in digestive distress such as bloating, stomach pain, nausea, and indigestion. You can read more about the benefits of anise here. I am sure that you have heard about the health benefits of cumin right? The numerous benefits include its ability to aid in digestion, improve immunity, and support insomnia, respiratory disorders, asthma, bronchitis, common cold, skin disorders.. the list goes on and on. Cumin is a must have staple item in your kitchen.
Brace yourself for the nutritional benefits of legumes (split peas) – They are an excellent source of fiber and protein. Fiber slows down your blood sugar level so that you stay fuller longer, maintain your mood, energy, metabolic burn, and mental clarity. Protein enhances lean muscle and supports your blood sugar. In addition, split peas are high in Vitamin A, which is required for the production of rhodopsin, a pigment that is needed for vision. You can read more about the benefits of split pea soup here.
Alright, enough with the novel! Head to the grocery store with the list of ingredients, prepare your kitchen with some fun music, and let’s get cooking!
